Arura 2014 - Update #2
Dear all,
We are now at the halfway point of Arura 2014! And what a week it has been already. Yesterday was another full day of activity, from segway racing to coasteering! The evening was spent outside in wonderful weather enjoying a wild west themed party accompanied by a rodeo bull, tyre throwing and line dancing!
Today the full camp is offsite, and we really desire your prayers for what is planned. Currently all campers and leaders are at the cinema whilst workers prepare a packed lunch for them. They will then be shopping in Coleraine, spending time in Barry's in Portrush, before having a BBQ down at Portstewart Strand.
There are a number of things that you can pray for:
- give thanks for the good weather we are enjoying, but pray for everyone to have the wisdom to keep applying suncream! Campers are being reminded regularly, but we do not want to have dozens of cases of sunstroke by this evening!
- pray for our safety. Not only just in travelling between our locations today on buses and in cars, but also whilst at the locations. With such a large camp, there is always the possibility of accidents or issues arising. Pray that the camp will be protected today in every way as we spend time across the north coast.
- pray for Al Bennett who challenged the young people last night with his talk, and also for the area speakers as they continue to bring God's Word to the young people. Give thanks that God's Holy Spirit is working on many of the young people, and pray that none would leave here having turned down the offer of salvation.
- pray for the leadership team and Area Managers who are having to deal with the various everyday issues that crop up at camp. Pray that God will give them wisdom and guidance, as well as energy and a joy in serving!
